Look, I know this is not a new song by any means. But I had a moment with it tonight on my drive home where I sang along at the top of my lungs and something just clicked. And it felt really great.
Maybe it’s because I got to work today feeling like I was totally inundated with things to do, and I left feeling like I kicked this day’s ass.
Maybe it’s because I got 25 minutes of precious, glorious sunshine in the walks to/from my lunch and coffee this afternoon.
Maybe it’s because I caught green lights at all of the painfully long intersections on my route home.
Maybe it’s because I just knew the washer/dryer in my building were going to be free and the pile of laundry I needed to do so desperately would get done.
Maybe it’s because I’m the happiest, most fulfilled, and most excited about my life as I can remember ever being.
So… sorry to brag and sorry to cheese. And the cynic in me fully expects the other shoe to drop shortly.
But life is pretty great right now and sometimes you gotta celebrate with a song that just gets it.
